An italian december

with Catherine Trottmann

After starting the season at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse for La Traviata (G. Verdi), Catherine Trottmann sings again the role of Flora at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, theater in which one she interpreted the role of Rosina last year (Il Barbiere di Sivigia, G. Rossini) and where she will be again next June for the role of Diane in Iphigénie en Tauride (C.W. Gluck).

For this new production staged by Déborah Warner, the distribution gives a nice place to some of the most promising young singers of their generation. In addition to Catherine Trottmann, we can hear Vannina Santoni as Violetta and Saimir Pirgu in Alfredo. They will share the stage with Laurent Naouri, under the direction of Jérémie Rhorer.

After being at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, she will give a concert which program is composed of Italian operas arias. It will take place at the Cathedral Saint-Louis des Invalides in Paris  on the occasion of a concert gathering laureates of Les Victoires de la Musique Classique, and notably beside baritone Thomas Dolié. She will then be in Angers and Nantes for a series of New Year's Concerts, with the Orchestre national des Pays de la Loire.

Catherine Trottmann's recent engagements include Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro) at the Opéra national du Rhin, Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and the Edinburgh Festival, Stéphano (Romeo and Juliet) at the Opéra de Nice, Siebel (Faust) at the Opéra de Saint-Etienne, or Zerlina (Don Giovanni) at the Opéra de Lausanne.
