At Oviedo Opera house, Spain, mezzo-soprano Anna Pennisi sings the role of the Newspaper Merchant in Les Mamelles de Tirésias by Francis Poulenc, opening a season that will also see her sing the role of Despina (Le Nozze di Figaro) at the Antwerp Opera.
A former member of the Atelier lyrique de l'Opéra de Paris from 2011 to 2013, Anna Pennisi has appeared on the stages of the Bastille and Opéra Garnier in numerous productions and concerts; she is pursuing a very successful career, which has already led her to perform, among others, on the stages of the Opéra national de Paris (Le Nozze di Figaro, La Traviata, La Fanciulla del West, Die Zauberflöte, L'Italiana in Algeri, La Cerisaie ...), the Glyndebourne Festival (Rusalka), the Opera of Rome (Carmen, Madama Butterfly ...), and the Opera of Rome (Madama Butterfly . .. ), the Stadttheater of Klagenfurt (Cosi fan tutte, I Capuletti e i Montecchi, A Midsummer Night's Dream ...), the Berlin Philharmonic (Rusalka), the Teatro San Carlo of Naples (Madama Butterfly), the Teatro Comunale di Mantova (Nabucco, Cavalleria Rusticana), the Teatro Massimo di Palermo (Il Barbiere di Siviglia, I Puritani), the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (Dido and Aeneas), the Opera of Toulon (Le Nozze di Figaro), or the Municipal Theater of São Paulo (Il Barbiere di Siviglia).
