Britten's illusions in Normandy

with Anna Reinhold and Kaëlig Boché

On March 31st, the Théâtre de Caen will propose a concert named "Les Illusions de Britten" with the Orchestre de Normandie under the baton of Jean Deroyer.

In the first part of the concert, the tenor Kaëlig Boché will perform the solo part of Les Illuminations (Britten), a work composed from Rimbaud's collection of prose poems. Then, the mezzo-soprano Anna Reinhold will sing the dramatic cantata Phaedra, Britten's last lyric composition inspired by the Racine's tragedy.

After her stopover in Caen, Anna Reinhold will be performing at London's Wigmore Hall in Vivaldi's La Senna Festeggiante alongside soprano Emöke Baráth, bass-baritone Callum Thorpe, and Jonathan Cohen at the direction and harpsichord.

After having performed the work in Clermont-Ferrand with the Orchestre d'Auvergne in late 2017 and in London this season, it will be given next season in Budapest and then in Quebec City and Montreal.

Among Kaëlig Boché's projects for 2018/2019 season are the solo tenor part of Le Roi David (Honegger) with the Orchestre national des Pays de la Loire (directed by Pascal Rophé), Schubert's Stabat Mater with the Orchestre Dijon Bourgogne, a concert at the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord with the ADAMI’s laureates, the role of Cecco in Il Mundo della Luna (Haydn) at the CNSMDP and his debut at the Opéra de Dijon as the Dancaïre (Carmen).

He was named "Révélation Classique" of the year 2017 by ADAMI and was awarded that same year, alongside pianist Jeanne Vallée, the prize Gabriel Fauré - Déodat de Séverac at the International Competition of French Melodies of Toulouse. He was also awarded in 2018 the "Second Prize Opera" at the Concours International de chant in Marseille and the Second Prize at the Concours international de chant de Mâcon.
