To end this 2018-2019 season, the Théâtre des Champs Elysées is planning Gluck's latest Parisian triumph, the lyric tragedy Iphigéne en Tauride, inspired by the work of Claude Guimond de La Touche.

In this production staged by Robert Carsen, the baritone Francesco Salvadori will be a Scythian and Catherine Trottmann will be Diane and the Second Priestess, alongside Gaëlle Arquez (Iphigénie) and Stéphane Degout (Oreste).

 

Named in the category « Lyrical revelation » of the Victoires de la Musique 2017 and « Laureate HSBC 2017 Aix Festival », Catherine Trottmann was quickly offered some of the most iconic roles in the repertoire.

Recent successes include Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro) at the Opéra national du Rhin, Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées and at the Edinburgh Internation Festival, Stéphano (Roméo et Juliette) at the Opéra de Nice, Siebel (Faust) at the Opéra de Saint-Etienne, or Zerlina (Don Giovanni) at the Opéra de Lausanne.

This 2018/2019 season, she performed Flora at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées as well as at the Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse. She also give a series of New Year’s concerts with the Orchestre national des Pays de la Loire, and recitals at Festival de Pâques d'Aix-en-Provence with pianist Karolos Zouganelis.

 

Born in Siena on 1985, baritone Francesco Salvadori obtained an honor degree from Florence Music Conservatory. He followed courses of Centro De Perfeccionamiento Placido Domingo in Valencia and Academy of Teatro Lirico Sperimentale di Spoleto, where he won the European Singing Contest in 2013. 

On stage, he sang Guglielmo in Cosi Fan Tutte at the Auditorio de Tenerife and at the Teatro Del Maggio Fiorentino. Valencia invited him to take part in Manon Lescaut under the baton of Placido Domingo. He sang Belcore (L'Elisir d'Amore) in Piacenza, staged by Leo Nucci and conducted by Stefano Ranzani, Schaunard in La Bohème at Verbier Festival then at the Gran Teatro La Fenice in Venezia for his debuts, before performing Morales (Carmen). 

At Biel Opera (Switzerland), he sang Dottor Malatesta in Don Pasquale before being invited by the Rome Opera where he has sung the Journalist in Berg's Lulu and Bosun in Billy Budd by Britten. 

More recently, he sang in some concerts of baroque music at the Festival d'Aix En Provence, with the ensemble Cappella Mediterranea conducted by Leonardo Garcia Alarcon, and then sang the Soldier and the Herald in Jerusalem by Verdi at the Teatro Regio di Parma, as opening show of the Festival Verdi 2017.
