Dominique Visse, from Genève to Versailles

with Cavalli's Il Giasone

Dominique Visse is back today at the Opéra royal de Versailles, where he will sing again Delfa and Eolo (Cavalli's Il Giasone) one year after the creation of this production, at the Grand Théâtre de Genève.

This is what Jacques Schmitt (Resmusica) said about the artist's performance: "Alone, fantastic actor, Dominique Visse (Delfa / Eolo) brings parody to the point of making him forget that he sings, and even as nymphomaniac, riding a henchman, his jokes are hilarious while most other singers generate only a smile. "

It must be said that Dominique Visse has made a specialty of the transvestite roles of nannies, in which he excels; this is evidenced by his come back this summer to the familiar role of Arnalta, in Monteverdi's L'Incornazione di Poppea, to the prestigious Salzburger Festspiele, after embodying, not far from there, the roles of Satirino, La Natura and Furia (Cavalli's Calisto), in the equally magnificent setting of the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich.

A great season ending  for our countertenor!
