British Soprano Elizabeth Bailey is during this 2017/2018 season hired by the Staatstheater Kassel to sing the roles of the Queen of the night (Die Zauberflöte), Giunia (Lucio Silla), Ann Truelove (The Rake's Progress) and the title role of Tommaso Traetta's Antigona, after having sung last season the roles of La Contessa (Le Nozze di Figaro) and Konstanze (Die Entfhürung aus dem Serail).
In the coming days, Elizabeth Bailey will sing for the first time the role of Giunia in Lucio Silla. The production will be conducted by Jörg Halubek and staged by Stephan Müller, for 9 shows, from 9 December 2017 to 17 March 2018.
Elizabeth Bailey has competed and has been finalist or winner in many international competitions : Operalia 2009, ARD 2009, Reine Elisabeth 2008 (Jacques Stehman price), Barcelona (Vinas), Geneva, Toulouse, Strasbourg and Bern (Ernst Haefliger). She is also triple winner of the european competition of Macon by winning the First price Opera, the Second price Melodie and the Orchestra price. In Marmande, she won Le Prix du Jeune Espoir and Prix des Directeurs.
