Emiliano Gonzalez Toro

His debuts at the Opéra de Paris in Eliogabalo

The last known work of Francesco Cavalli about delirium and misadventures of a young roman emperor, Eliogabalo, will open the season of the Palais Garnier in Paris. Conductor Leonardo Garcia Alarcon which is already recognized for his successful past experiencies, chose this time a work relatively unknown. It was created posthumously in 1999 and came out in 2004 thanks to René Jacobs in Brussels. In association with the young stage director Thomas Jolly they will be keen to introduce this character (interpreted by Franco Fagioli) with his ambiguity and madness.

Tenor Emiliano Gonzalez Toro makes his debuts at the Opéra de Paris in the role of Lenia, confidant and accomplice of the young decadent emperor. A tailor-made role for which one he recently told that he enjoyed working all facets.

On august, 23rd 2016, the disc 'Les Péchés Capitaux"  was released on the occasion of the 450th Monteverdi anniversary. To discover here.

During the 2016/2017 season, Emiliano Gonzalez Toro interprets Torquemada (L'Heure espagnole, Ravel) with the Orchestre national de Bordeaux-Aquitaine, Iro (Il Ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria, Monteverdi) at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and at the Opéra de Dijon, and finally, the title role of Don Quichotte chez la Duchesse (Boismortier) in Mexico and on tour in France with Le Concert Spirituel.
