Emiliano Gonzalez Toro sings Monteverdi's L'Orfeo

at   Cremona Festival

It is a role carved for him and a true dubbing, which awaits tenor Emiliano Gonzalez Toro these days.

On May 5 and 6, he will sing the title role of L'Orfeo by Claudio Monteverdi, at the Monteverdi Festival in Cremona, Italy, accompanied by the Accademia Bizantina, under the musical direction of Ottavio Dantone.

Regularly invited as soloist alongside the most important European baroque music ensembles, he is one of the finest performers of this repertoire and has made his debut this season at the Opéra National de Paris in the role of Lenia (Eliogabalo   by  Cavalli) , alongside Leonardo Garcia Alarcon and his ensemble Cappella Mediterranea.

Highlights of  his season 2016/2017: Torquemada (L'Heure espagnole by Ravel) with the Bordeaux-Aquitaine National Orchestra, Eurimaco (Monteverdi's Il Ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria) at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and the Opera de Dijon, the title role of Don Quichotte chez la  Duchesse  by Boismortier  in Mexico and on a French tour with Le Concert Spirituel, the Amore Siciliano and Carmina Latina programs with Cappella Mediterranea, the roles of Admète and Apollon in Alceste  by  Lully at the Festival de Beaune and the Zefiro Torna program in London with the Talens Lyriques, Monteverdi's Vespers on European tour with Pygmalion Ensemble, the Orfeo Chaman program with the Arpeggiata, Handel's Messiah in Lisbon and Barcelona with the Gulbenkian Orchestra .
