It is a highly Parisian springtime that awaits tenor François Rougier.
Accustomed to these two prestigious houses, he will indeed sing the role of Remendado (Carmen) at the Opéra Bastille in the coming days, before starting the rehearsals of Madame Favart at the Opéra Comique, a work in which he will play the role of Héctor de Boispréau.
This will be his third appearance this season at the Paris Opera, as he played Gastone (La Traviata) and Cossé (Les Huguenots) at the beginning of the season.
As for the Opéra Comique, it has already sung several roles in recent seasons: Juliano (Auber's Domino Noir), Prince Charming (Viardot's Cendrillon), Cassim (Lecocq's Ali Baba), or the Boss and Mayor (Hahn's Ciboulette).
In addition to his operatic career, which has already led him to perform in most of the major French opera houses, François Rougier performs very regularly in concert; His appearances in the Saint-Saëns's Christmas Oratorio with the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, Beethoven's C Mass with the Toulouse Capitol Choir, Beethoven's 9th Symphony with the Ensemble Matheus, the Passion According to Saint John at the Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, conducted by Michel Corboz, and the Chapelle Rhénane and the Toulouse Baroque Ensemble.
He also collaborates closely with the MPDA Company - Alexandra Lacroix; let us recall the creation of the recent triptych of shows based on Bach's Passions (musical direction by Christophe Grapperon): Et le coq chanta… in 2014, D’autres le giflèrent in 2015, and Puis il devint invisible in 2017.
