Il Re Pastore on tour

Emiliano Gonzalez Toro is Agenor alongside Rolando Villazon

Under William Christie's baton, les Arts Florissants will be on tour with Il Re Pastore (by W. A. Mozart), Rolando Villazon being Alessandro, and Emiliano Gonzalez Toro singing the other tenor role, Agenore.

Mozart composed this opera at the age of 19, same year as La Finta Giardinera. This pastoral work contains already all ingredients of the composer's genius. The voice is treated as a true soloist instrument, that discusses with the flute (Se vincendo vi rendo felici) or with the violin in the rondo L'amero saro costante.

During 2015/2016's season, tenor Emiliano Gonzalez Toro participates to Cavalli's Xerse production under the baton of Emmanuelle Haïm (Lille, Caen and Vienna). In Bruges, he is with Capella Mediterranea for the program « Amore Siciliano », as well as at the Philharmonie de Paris, the Theater and der Wien and the Monteverdi Festival of Cremona, for Armide and « Zefiro Torna », with Les Talens lyriques. With La Cetra (Andrea Marcon), he gives Catone in Utica by Vivaldi in Bâle and Amsterdam.
