After a season marked in particular by his revival of Monteverdi's beautiful Il ritorno d'Ulisse, staged by William Kentridge and under the baton of Philippe Pierlot at the opera Massimo in Palermo and the Théâtre Royal de Versailles, as well as his debut at the Opéra de Saint-Etienne the role of the Herald (Dante, Godard), tenor Jean-François Novelli comes back this season in Italy and sings Torquemada (L'heure espagnole, Ravel) on tour (Brescia, Como, Cremona and Pavia) in Carmelo Rifici's production.
Later in the season, Jean-François Novelli will sing Chilpéric (Apothicaire et Perruquier, Offenbach) at the Théâtre de l'Odéon in Marseille, and will perform with the ensembles Sébastien de Brossard, la Simphonie du Marais, the Novantiqua choir of Sion...
In 2019, Jean-François Novelli creates his second recital show combining music theatre and humour : my tenor's life from a text by Hector Berlioz and staged by Olivier Broche. A residency show at la Cité de la voix in Vezelay last June and a premiere on 23 November 2019 at the Théâtre La Manekine (Paris).
Other artists of the agency will also be in Italy this season: Florian Sempey in November in Bergamo (L'Ange de Nisida, Donizetti) while Thomas Dolié (L'enfance du Christ, Berlioz), Edwin Fardini and Frédéric Caton (Roméo et Juliette, Gounod) will be at La Scala in Milan in December, January and February.
