If there is a counter-tenor that we no longer need to present, especially in the baroque repertoire, it is Dominique Visse whose musical eclecticism and outstanding personality make an impression.
In the coming weeks, he will be at the Teatro Real in Madrid in La Calisto (F. Cavalli), a work given for the first time in this theater. After having played the roles of Satirino, La Natura and Furia at the Bayerische Staatsoper in the same production last season, he will play them again under the direction of Ivor Bolton.
Recent and upcoming engagements include the roles of Arnalta (L'Incoronazione di Poppea) at the Salzburger Festspiele, Delfa and Eolo (Il Giasone) at the Grand Théâtre de Genève and at the Opéra Royal de Versailles, la Vecchia (Rossi's Orfeo ) at the Opéra National de Lorraine, the Opéra royal de Versailles and the Opéra national de Bordeaux (conducted by Raphaël Pichon), Rigo (Don Chisciotte in Sierra Morena by Conti) conducted by René Jacobs at the Theater an der Wien, the Cité de la Musique de Paris and the Philharmonie de Cologne, or Nutrice (L'Incoronazione di Poppea) at Angers Nantes Opera.
As a conductor, he recently conducted the Café Zimmermann and Aedes ensembles on a Christmas concert tour with works by Marc-Antoine Charpentier, as well as Charpentier's David and Jonathas with the Atelier lyrique de Tourcoing.
