After having sang with great success the role of Roxanne in Cyrano de Bergerac by David DiChiera last fall, soprano Magali Simard-Galdès is back to Opera Carolina (USA) in February, to make this time her debut as Gilda (Rigoletto by Verdi) ; performances preceded by 2 others, for the Toledo Opera Association.
Magali Simard-Galdès' dazzling early career has already been marked by her debut at the Opéra de Montréal as Constance (Dialogues des Carmelites), a Canadian tour of 30 recitals with the Jeunesses musicales du Canada (Maureen-Forrester Award), the roles of the 1st Flower-Maiden (Parsifal) at the Festival de Lanaudière under the baton of Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Eve (Le Paradis perdu by Dubois) at the Atelier lyrique de Tourcoing.
Among the projects of the young artist-in-residence 2017 at the Académie du Festival d’Aix-en-Provence (stand-in for Pinocchio by Boesmans) or three time first-prize winner of the Canadian Music Competition, include the role of Mad Chorus (The Overcoat) at the Tapestry Opera in Toronto and the Vancouver Opera.
