Marian Vespers with Ensemble Pygmalion

Published in 1610, Marian Vespers are the first sacred pieces composed by Claudio Monteverdi, after a carreer started almost 28 years before. The structure has been stayed unchanged for more than   fifteen centuries.

Raphaël Pichon and his  Ensemble Pygmalion continue their exploration of the most famous masterpieces of occidental music.  Among the soloists , let's mention mezzo soprano Eva Zaïcik   and tenor Emiliano Gonzalez Toro , both  already experienced in this repertoire they love singing!

No doubt the Amsterdam audience will take great pleasure in (re)discovering  this masterpiece during one of the four performances given from June 3 to 5 in Dutch National Opera.  Three more stopovers then : in Versailles, Leipzig and later on  during the BBC Proms in London.
