Marianne Fiset makes her Liù's debuts

at Vancouver Opera

From 13 october 2017 to 21 october 2017, the canadian soprano Marianne Fiset will be back at Vancouver Opera.

She will sing for the first time the role of Liù in Puccni's Turandot.

Turandot is an opera in three acts and five paintings by Giacomo Puccini, on a libretto by Giuseppe Adami and Renato Simoni,  created on 25 April 1926 at La Scala in Milan under the direction of Toscanini. It was first performed at the Vancouver Opera on 27 April 1972.

It is inspired by the comedy of Carlo Gozzi entitled Turandot, already put into music in 1917 by Ferrucio Busoni under the same name of Turandot.

The last scene of this unfinished work of Puccini, died in 1924, was completed by Franco Alfano.

After this production, Marianne Fiset will sing the Verid's Requiem with the Symphonic Orchestra of Trois-Rivières (18 and 19 November, 2017).
