Passions

Budapest, Lisbon, Fribourg and Bern

Passions composed by Bach are oratorio about Christ's passion. He would have written five of them, only three of them are really known: among them St John Passion and St Matthew Passion which  are based on an old tradition of singing the Christ Passion during the Holy Week. Indeed, both artworks are used to be performed close to Easter and our artists are particularly solicited to perform them.

St Matthew Passion will be played in Budapest in March 17th and 18th where Thomas Dolié will sing Jesus.

François Rougier will be at the Fondation Gulbelkian in Lisbon on March 22nd and 23rd conducted by Michel Corboz and then at the Fribourg Cathedral on March 25th in the St John Passion.

Finally, we have the pleasure to meet Eva Zaïcik, mezzo-soprano, invited to sing the alto-solo part in St John Passion in Bern on March 20th and 25th.
