Sara Gouzy and Frédéric Caton sing "Dialogues des Carmélites"

at the Opéra d'Avignon

Two of our artists meet at the Opéra Grand Avignon this month, to sing Poulenc / Bernanos's masterpiece : "Dialogues des Carmélites". If bass Frédéric Caton (role of the Marquis de la Force) is a regular on this stage, it will be a premiere for the young soprano Sara Gouzy, who will debut in the endearing role of Soeur Constance.

After studying at the Berlin Hochschule and obtaining many awards (winner and scholarship of the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation live music now in Berlin, 1st prize of the International Competition of melodies of St. Petersburg in Russia, "Talent d'Or" prize 2011 from the Rotary Foundation ...), Sara Gouzy recently made her debut at the Opéra de Dijon as Amore (Orfeo ed Euridice by Gluck), alongside the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra for the solo soprano part of Saint-Saëns' Oratorio de Noël, or in Munich with the Kammeroper München Orchester, in the role of Flaminia (Il Mondo della luna by Haydn).

Some of the most beautiful roles of the repertoire of bass await Frédéric Caton in 2017/2018. In addition to the Marquis de la Force, one can indeed hear him in the roles of Arkel (Pelléas et Mélisande by Debussy) at the Festival Classica in Montréal and the Festival de Québec, the Father (The Childhood of Christ) on concerts tour in Czech Republic, Laurent (Romeo and Juliet) at the Opéra de Nice, or Nourabad (Les Pêcheurs de Perles) at the Opéra de Limoges; he sings  also Beethoven 9th Symphony, with the Orchestre régional Avignon-Provence.
