A recent finalist of the prestigious Cesti-Wettbewerb, held annually on the occasion of the Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik, soprano Sara Gouzy will have the pleasure to sing over the next few days under the direction of one of the great names in early music, Jordi Savall.
However, the Catalan maestro, who leads the Concert des Nations and the NFM Choir, will conduct a more 'modern' programme, with Ludwig van Beethoven's 9th symphony, on the occasion of the commemoration of the the 250th anniversary of the birth of the german composer..
Soprano Sara Gouzy will perform the solo soprano part of the 9th symphony, for two concerts in Poland, two dates that were to be part of a European tour that was largely shortened due to the current health crisis.
As for the French audience, it recently had the pleasure to discover her as Yniold (Pelléas et Mélisande) and Amore (Orfeo ed Euridice) at the Opéra de Dijon, Soeur Constance (Dialogues des Carmélites) and Barberine (Le Nozze di Figaro) at the Opéra Grand Avignon, and will see her again this season in the role of Gianetta (L'Elisir d'Amore) at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and then at the Opéra de Rouen.
