Stéphanie-Marie Degand has not finished marvelling us.
We will have the pleasure of hearing her on 12 June in the Brahms Concerto, on the occasion of the reopening festival of the Tours Opera. The pleasure will be renewed on 23 July when the Frenchwoman will lead a session of the Jeune Orchestre de l'Abbaye in Saintes, punctuated by a concert with her baton and violin.
An experienced soloist, a passionate chamber musician, a committed solo violinist, a conductor and a teacher, she exploits the range of her artistic talents with energy and passion. She is one of the few performers capable of mastering the techniques and codes of a repertoire ranging from the 17th century to contemporary creation.
Co-founder in 2000, with Emmanuelle Haïm, of the Concert d'Astrée, she will be the concertmaster and then the musical assistant. She founded in 2016 and is the artistic director of the ensemble La Diane Française, with which she explores all facets of French art through the centuries.
Stéphanie-Marie Degand has conducted the Orchestre Philharmonique de Liège, Les Violons du Roy, and the Orchestre d'Auvergne. She has also been assistant conductor to Laurent Campellone for Fantasio (2020), to Sébastien Rouland for Le Postillon de Longjumeau (2019) at the Opéra-Comique and to Jérémie Rhorer at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées for Le nozze di Figaro (2019) and Don Giovanni (2016).
