The Carmen of Isabelle Druet

at the Opéra de Saint-Etienne

Isabelle Druet is one of the most appreciated mezzo-sopranos of her generation. After  singing again the role of Concepcion in L'Heure Espagnole on tour (Aix-en Provence, Grenoble and Evian) with Les Siècles, then with the London Symphony orchestra (Barbican Center of London), she will sing, on June,  her fetish role of Carmen at the Opéra de Saint-Etienne (12, 14 and 16 June 2019). Role where she had already made a name for herself in the past at the Opéra National de Lorraine, the Opéra de Metz and the Düsseldorf / Duisburg Oper.

This production in Saint-Etienne is staged by Nicola Berloffa and conducted by Alain Guigal.

Another major role to come: Cassandre in Berlioz's Prise de Troie at the Berlioz Festival on the Côte Saint-André, in concert-version, under the direction of F.X. Roth. She will have previously sung at the mythical Violon sur le Sable in Royan and given a concert with the Ensemble Vesontio.

Amoung her projects for the 2019/2020's season include the role of Béatrice (Berlioz's Béatrice et Bénédict) at the Cologne's Opera, Ravel's Scheherazade with Les Siècles (conducted by François-Xavier Roth), Stéphane Mallarmé's Trois Poèmes with the Orchestre national de Lyon (conducted by Leonard Slatkin), Berlioz's Summer Nights with the Douai Orchestra, the role of Triton (Sebastián Durón's Coronis ) on tour in France with the Poème Harmonique, or Debussy's Le Martyre de Saint Sébastien with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra.
