Young soprano from Quebec, Magali Simard-Galdès begins this season at the Opéra de Montréal in the role of Constance (Dialogues des Carmélites by Poulenc); She also toured 30 recitals as a recipient of the 2015 Maureen-Forrester Award from the Jeunesses musicales du Canada.
Member of the Atelier lyrique of the Opéra de Montréal from 2014 to 2016, she is three times winner of the first prize, singing category, of the Canadian Music Competition and is, in 2014, regional finalist of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Hearings.
In 2015, she made professional debuts in the role of Nicette in Le Pré aux Clercs at the Wexford Festival Opera.
She benefits from the valuable support of the Vancouver Opera Guild, which awarded the 2016 Career Development Grant, the Jeunesses Musicales Foundation of Canada and the Jacqueline Desmarais Foundation for young Canadian opera singers.
